More ROLLING STONES U.S. Mono LPs

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=9FE11V83
By special request from Keith (not that one, but this one riffs just as hard), here are two of my all-time favorite Stones albums in their original London Records U.S. Mono glory. In my world, these albums are just as good as "Exile" and they both have something that "Exile" doesn't, BRIAN JONES!

DISCOMANIA

Has The Pipe lost it? "Discomania"??? It's bad enough he forces Bay City Rollers and hillbilly crap on us and now it's all this. This is a pre-Saturday Night Fever "disco" compilation released in Canada in 1975 and it has some great danceable R&B tunes and the coolest thing is, whoever put this LP together did it as a NON-STOP D.J. style mix so it's an interesting and fun listen. Crank it up LOUD and you should be dancing, yeah.

Join us next week as we explore the roots of James Taylor and feature some ultra-rare Jimmy Buffett b-sides from his early "normal shirt" era.

ERNIE HARWELL R.I.P.

A TRIBUTE TO A DETROIT ICON
Here's a rare LP from 1968, released by the National Bank Of Detroit entitled "The Year Of The Tiger '68" celebrating the Detroit Tigers 1968 American League Championship with commentary by Ernie Harwell and Ray Lane.

Here's a warning--it's got a few scratches and skips here and there (it's pressed on super CHEAP vinyl and each side is over 25 minutes long so the grooves are crammed and noisy) but it's an interesting listen AND it includes the song, "Go Get 'Em Tigers" and lots of Denny McLain too. I assume this LP was only available locally but if anyone reading this has a cleaner one, post it or send it to me and I'll transfer it.
